Introducing Launchpad

Launchpad is where you try new UXHack products, features, and events in progress and where you post and vote on the ideas we build next.

For the last few months we have been building a lot of cool stuff at UXHack. We wanted to make all of these available for you to try, before they actually launch.

So what better way than to give these products their own... Launchpad.

We are delighted to share this offering with you, which in itself is a launch, of sorts :)

Launchpad allows us to get early feedback rather than post launch. It also becomes a great way for you to mould the actual product via feedback loops and suggestions.

Here's the detailed breakdown:

A quick primer on what Launchpad is

You will see two clear tabs

- Launches

- Ideas

Launches is where you can try what's in progress. Ideas is where you can suggest new product features, events or changes

Trying a launch

Every launch follows the same short loop.

  1. Try it.Open a 'launch card' and try it out: it can be a working feature, a simulated flow, or an early concept, depending on its stage.
  2. Tell us. Once done, don't forget to share feedback: What worked, what didn't what can be better. Also if you notice a bug, this is the best place and time to highlight it.
  3. We act. We read through every response! Your feedback can change what ships - and sometimes whether it ships at all.

What you see when you pick a launch
What you see when you pick a launch

You'll find three kinds of launches, each labelled by stage so there are no surprises:

  • Products & features - new capabilities inside UXHack, from first concept to full working flow.
  • Events - Hackathons, challenges, and community formats we're trialing before rolling them out widely.
  • Mock flows - clickable simulations of a flow we're considering, so you can react to its shape before we build it.
Once you are done, don't forget to share Feedback

Some launches are marked Coming soon. Register your interest or ask to be notified the moment they open.

Sharing an idea

This is how you can share an idea, feature request or improvement
This is how you can share an idea, feature request or improvement

The Ideas tab is a running list of what the community wants UXHack to build next and anyone can add to it.

  1. Post your idea. A title, a sentence or two on the problem it solves, and a tag so it's easy to find.
  2. The team reviews it. Every submission is checked before it goes on the public board, so the list stays useful.
  3. The community votes. Upvote the ideas you care about. Votes show us where the real demand is

Votes don't decide the roadmap on their own. The team still chooses what makes the cut  but nothing gets built here without the demand being visible first. An idea you post today can be a launch you're testing in a few weeks.

We'd love to know what you think about Launchpad and are eager to see your ideas, suggestions on the current and future products!

UX is not just about Design

While one can create great designs, in order to translate those designs and experiences into quality products, one needs developers with an eye for UX.
