Director Product Management

Overview

The Director of Product Management for athenaOne Foundations leads product strategy, roadmap, and measurable outcomes for core services and platforms that enable innovation across Athenahealth's athenaOne suite, collaborating across engineering, R&D, security, finance, and infrastructure. The hybrid role is based in Chennai, India and reports to the Executive Director, Product.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage product vision, strategy, and multi‑year roadmap for athenaOne Foundations.
• Own success metrics such as reliability, adoption, productivity, and scalability.
• Partner with R&D, security, finance and other leaders to align roadmaps, funding, and delivery plans.
• Lead, coach, and develop product managers and owners, building operating mechanisms for accountability and fast learning.
• Leverage AI and automation to improve product outcomes, reduce friction, and increase productivity.

Eligibility

• Deep expertise in product management, especially platform or technical product leadership.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in complex software environments, preferably healthcare/SaaS.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or equivalent (preferred).
