Principal UX designer

Overview

The Principal UX Designer will act as Head of UX, owning the end‑to‑end design process from research to delivery while operating as a design team of one. This role balances strategic ownership with hands‑on execution and serves as the primary UX voice across product teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the full UX design lifecycle including research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, and implementation
• Lead user research and usability testing, synthesizing insights into design solutions
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define strategy and requirements
• Create and maintain design deliverables such as user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity mockups
• Maintain the design system and set design standards, processes, and critique cadence

Eligibility

• 10+ years of professional UX design experience, with at least 5 years in senior or principal roles
• Strong portfolio demonstrating user research, interaction design, and visual design
• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field (preferred)
