Overview

Staff Product Manager for Applied Sciences at Pinterest, leading the vision and roadmap for AI/ML platform technologies such as representation learning, signals, and recommender systems. The role partners across science, engineering, research and product teams to turn advanced research into scalable, high‑traffic consumer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Shape product vision and roadmap for the Applied Sciences portfolio, including representation learning, signals, and recommender systems
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure new capabilities are broadly adopted and not built in silos
• Translate technical roadmaps into product bets with clear success criteria, collaborating with science, engineering, research, and surface teams
• Define and communicate platform value metrics such as adoption, quality, time to production, and infrastructure cost
• Evaluate modeling trade‑offs, support experimentation, and ensure sustainable scaling of innovations across Pinterest

Eligibility

• 7+ years of product management experience, preferably with ML/AI platforms
• Proven experience shipping AI/ML products at scale (e.g., feature stores, embedding platforms, recommender systems)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
