It’s very difficult to choose the right words when trying to engage a dormant user. If you under-do it, users wont react. Over-do it just a bit and it could trigger unsubscriptions.
That’s the reason why Canva’s mailer here is so brilliant. It’s got a great subject line that’s hard to miss and evokes the right emotions.
And the body is a subtle play of assertion yet empathises with a user’s needs and context.
Also the CTA is spot on.
Given Gmail’s overpowering algorithm that treats everything as a ‘Promotion’, such copies makes for brilliant reading. Nicely done indeed!
