UX is not just about Design

Over the last year, a realisation has dawned on us as we worked with multiple companies.

While one can create great designs, in order to translate those designs and experiences into quality products, one needs developers with an eye for UX.

Some of the elements which go beyond design such as page loading speed, mobile responsiveness, use of the right image compression + formats have an equal impact on overall UX if not more.

Seems obvious now, but most things do in hindsight.

As we see it, the boundaries between a UI UX Designer and a Frontend Developer are reducing, gradually, more so with powerful no-code tools available for building products.

We have already seen developers who love design and UX: visit any of the top engineering colleges and there are students who want to go beyond coding, and be closer to the interactions.

Infact several members on UXHack are developers, by education and previous experience, who are now designers.

And it's not about just a Frontend developer who appreciates UX, we also see it's definitely important for a UI UX Designer to also understand the basics like HTML, CSS, Screen breakpoints so that they can come up with more implementable designs.

So it feels like the right time to make a shift. We'd like to invite Frontend Developers who love UX, onto our platform.

What this essentially means is that each of the activities we do from now will also have the development lens on, by default. So:

But amidst this, the underlying focus on UX remains

To get things rolling, we are posting our first FE gig. More details here:
