Context: IRCTCHackathon:Track 1
Track X: With quick UX Hacks, how can IRCTC improve the overall booking experience
There are a number of things that need improvement across IRCTC.
However, your aim is work out the top 3-4 highest revenue impacting flows and come up with Hacks to improve them.
Why this is important: While redesigning IRCTC would be great, what really matters are incremental, yet impactful changes.
These are Hacks that when A/B tested with traffic will show significant uptake in revenue/conversions.
Again, we DO NOT want complete redesigns.
This means you have to focus on the UX elements assuming you can't tinker too much with the existing UI.
Do not present beautiful looking designs. They are not important. We need functional design, but excellent UX.
Here's the agenda and timelines you need to follow:
1. 25th Nov: Choose a Pod Master (PM) for your Pod from amongst yourselves and communicate the same to this id
- PM will present to the jury on the final day
- PM will also the be the single point of contact for your Pod for all future communication for this hackathon.
2. 28th Nov: Submit a draft solution. This will be moderated and you will be given a score on 10. You will be able to see scores of other Pods too at this stage. You will also get suggestions for improvement, if any. Non-submissions get a 0
3. 30th Nov: Submit final solution
4. 1st December (3-6 PM): Final Event
On the final day, your group will present the solution to a jury panel
Solution will be sent to General Manager, Internet Ticketing at IRCTC as also Ministry of Railways, post the event
This is a multi city Hackathon and those outside Delhi will login using Google Hangouts (ensure you have access and decent net coverage)
All submission timelines are for midnight of that day and in IST
Other details:
Submission format: There is no restriction on the format used. However here’s what’s recommended: ppt, pdf, images.
Submission style: focus on the content not the style. Avoid verbosity. If needed attach a note with your presentation
If you need guidance on a good way to present, we’ll have a hangout session on the night of the 26th of Nov, 9PM (will happen only if 5+ people are interested). Communicate your interest via your PM (Pod Master).
Time limit: you have 5min to present
